Kid President and ConAgra Foods Team Up for a Good Cause

Most everyone with a television and awareness of social trends has heard of or participated in a telethon. Now, a new hybrid of syndication and activation is on the horizon- it’s called a Tell-A-Thon. No, this isn’t an excuse for a terrible misspelling. Imagined and brought to life by ConAgra Foods, the first-ever Tell-A-Thon is a summer-long conversation about the issue of child hunger, particularly in summer months when those with little access to food outside of school programs need it most.

This exciting new initiative was kicked off with a partnership between our client, ConAgra Foods, and Kid President Wednesday, June 10. The young YouTube sensation began with a live stream, talking about the issue of child hunger, the importance of getting involved, and then prompting people to take action and join the conversation.

Now that Kid President has made his exit in his featured YouTube segment, the responsibility of continuing the Tell-A-Thon falls on the rest of the country. Influencers across America will be sharing ways they are getting involved and providing easy, tangible opportunities for anyone to make a difference.

The key to making this Tell-A-Thon a success is the willingness of people to not only get out of their seat and get involved, but to document that participation, share it, and prompt others to do the same, all by using the #HungerFreeSummer hashtag.

Doing Your Part

ConAgra Foods hopes to make a huge dent in child hunger this summer, aiming to see 22 million uses of #HungerFreeSummer across social media. Knowledge may be power, but education without a response isn’t going to change the hunger climate in our country. To do your part, keep up with the following influencers as they post throughout the summer and find out where and how to get involved:

MJ Tam & Beth Rosen of Chicagonista

Yolanda Machado of Sassy Mama in LA

Brianne Manz of Stroller in the City

Brett Martin of This Mama Loves

Christine Koh of Boston Mamas

Jodi Grundig of Moms Favorite Stuff
